Winter Feast in Hymes

From next Saturday, 18 December, until the 8th of January, the long-awaited Christmas festivities will be back in Hymes. The city plans on making this edition named Winter Lights bigger than ever.

There will be lots of activities such as traditional winter games, food trucks, an ice rink,… There’s a walk that covers 3 km through the wonderful city with a light spectacle that highlights the top events of the year. Seeing the lights during the evening walk will surely be a magical moment.

We also can’t forget about the Christmas stalls. Locals will be selling their authentic crafts such as the beautiful Ebrana celebration hats, flower pieces, knittings,… This year there will be at least 120 stalls!

Local bands and famous singers such as Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey and Beyoncé will provide the visitors with cheesy Christmas music whilst drinking a delicious hot chocolate milk or Glühwein.

The city put a very special tree in the centre of the main square. It’s a white tree with no decorations. To stress the solidarity and unity of the city, all visitors are asked to hang their favourite scarf in the tree. After the event, the scarves will be given to local charities such as shelters or other NGOs.
