Primary schools roll up their sleeves

It's that time of the year again, Mad Hats Day is coming up. On this day, all children in the local primary schools craft the most beautiful hats. They do this in honour of 'the Ebrana Celebration Hat' which is always worn by the local people at special celebrations.

On December 2, all children in Ebrana can roll up their sleeves and create the hat of their dreams. In this way, they can already dream about which hat they want to wear for special celebrations one day.

Workshops for teachers

Of course, the pupils will receive help from their teachers in creating a fun, crazy hat. All kinds of different workshops will be given to teachers in order to guide the children as well as possible on this day.

These workshops take place every Wednesday in November, so that the tips and tricks given are still fresh in the minds by 2 December. These workshops are fully funded by the state and are made as enjoyable as possible.

''It is important that the teachers also have a good experience," says workshop organiser Ella Bloom. For the past five years, she has been ensuring that the teachers receive good guidance. Mad Hats Day is seen as a very important day in Ebrana.

The most beautiful hat

At the end of the day, the children get to show off their creations to a large audience of enthusiastic parents during a small parade. A small dance is also taught, so that the children can put on a wonderful show for their proud parents. After the parade, the most beautiful hat will be awarded and the winner will receive front row tickets for the annual flower parade.

Send your child's most beautiful creations to www.madhatsday.eb and win a free hat craft workshop for the whole family!
